About

Hi there! My name is Rebecca. I am a wife and working mom living in Evanston, IL.

As lame as it sounds, I like reality TV. Okay, I’ll admit it, I REALLY like reality TV. I’ve been know to spend hours on Hulu watching it.

I know, I’m too old, too educated, too whatever to watch this kind of TV. But there’s something that appeals to me. The contestants are putting themselves out there to see what the world gives back. They’re trying to make themselves and their circumstances better. They are having a breakthrough moment. And I find this incredibly inspirational and highly addictive. After all, I see this same desire in myself.

This blog was started on a whim and was perhaps motivated by a too large glass of wine. But, on some level, I knew this had to be done. I’ve been trapped in my head for too long and, as I’ve taken on this new responsibility of being a mama, I just need to figure out what is going on in that crazy/confused brain of mine.

So, this blog is ultimately a catalog of my journey. It is part of my challenge. It is my breakthrough moment. I started this blog because I need to push myself outside my comfort zone, take a risk, and try something new. I was inspired and continue to be motivated by the contestants on reality TV. It’s weird. It’s lame. I know. But it works for me.

Let’s see where this journey takes us, shall we?.
